Course Objectives


At the end of the course, the student must be able to:

Know and understand the fundamental principles of clinical pathology.
Critically evaluate and interpret the logic behind clinical laboratory tests and the validity of results, interpreting their significance within their scope of practice.
Understand how to resolve potential issues within the clinical pathology laboratory.
Develop critical and proactive thinking to resolve complex analytical and diagnostic cases.

Course Prerequisites


1. Fundamentals of Cell Biology, Human Anatomy, and Physiology
2. Fundamentals of General, Physical and Biochemical Chemistry

Teaching Methods


Lectures and discussion of practical laboratory cases

Assessment Methods


Written and/or Oral test on the entire course program. The test will be passed if the candidate reaches the cut-off score of 18/30.
Evaluations will be communicated in due advance and their results will be publicly available.
