Syllabus

Course Objectives


- Understand the basic principles of angiography and interventional neuroradiology.- Identify key cerebral and spinal vascular landmarks.- Know basic access techniques and instrumentation.- Collaborate effectively in the technical setup of procedures.- Apply safety and radiation protection standards appropriately.

Course Prerequisites


- Basic knowledge of CNS anatomy and physiology.- Understanding of cerebral and spinal vascular anatomy.- Introductory knowledge of medical imaging and radiation protection.

Teaching Methods


- Frontal lectures with multimedia support.- Interactive sessions with angiographic, MRI, and CT images.- Guided classroom discussions.- Use of diagrams, schemes, and illustrative videos.

Assessment Methods


- Ongoing interaction during frontal and interactive lectures.- Final written examination.

Contents


The course introduces the fundamental principles of cerebral and spinal interventional neuroradiology, with emphasis on technical, anatomical, and safety aspects relevant to radiology technologists. Contents include:- General principles of angiography.- Cerebral and spinal vascular anatomy relevant to interventions.- Basic vascular access techniques and instrumentation.- Overview of main endovascular procedures (general concepts).- The technologist’s role in interventional procedures.- Patient and team safety, radiation protection.
