Course Objectives

The aim of the course is to provide the basic written and oral tools of Portuguese and to equip the student for the composition and understanding of written and oral texts, bearing in mind the diversity of textual genres and the diatopic, diastratic, diaphasic, diamesic variations and diachronic Portuguese/Brazilian. Furthermore, the student will be provided with internal and external historical elements of the Portuguese language.

Assessment Methods

Written test to verify written comprehension through translation and comprehension questions; applied grammar exercises. Oral test to verify oral comprehension and expression, as well as the theoretical contents of the teacher's course.

The Portuguese course has a Brazilian tutorship from the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, through the Guimarães Rosa Institute of the Brazilian Embassy (Rome) in collaboration with the "d'Annunzio" University. This type of readership is present in only two Italian universities and in 19 countries around the world. The Lecturer is present exclusively in the Department of Modern Languages, Literatures and Cultures and carries out lecturer activities, seminars and workshops.
