Syllabus

Course Objectives


The course aims to provide the main foundational knowledge needed to understand the issues that characterize the management of firms. In particular, it is designed to enable participants to acquire the basic knowledge required to analyse the business system using the main interpretative models developed in theory and in practice for the management of firms.
At the end of the course, students should be able to:

describe how the business system works;
understand corporate physiology and pathology;
understand the process of improving corporate performance.

Teaching Methods


The course normally consists of 10 hours of teaching, organised into 5 weekly classes of 2 hours each. Activities will take place predominantly in person, through face-to-face lectures.
Any use of remote/online teaching may take place exclusively in the cases and according to the procedures established by the University Regulations.
Attendance is strongly recommended.

Assessment Methods


The Business Economics exam is written and will consist of a multiple-choice test on the topics covered during the lectures.
The final grade for the integrated course will be calculated as the average of the individual marks obtained in each module (minimum mark: 18 out of 30) that make up the integrated course.

Professor Armando Della Porta holds student office hours every Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in Room 34 of the Department of Business Administration, at the Viale Pindaro University Campus in Pescara.
