Syllabus

Course Objectives

The final objective of the course is the acquisition of basic anatomical knowledge to understand the general organization of the human body with particular attention to the generation of 3D cellular models (organoids). The achievement of the general objective allows the student to make full use of subsequent courses that require morphological knowledge and provides the graduate with a cultural substratum useful for practicing the profession and interacting with other professionals. Therefore, the expected learning outcomes foresee that at the end of the course the student must be able to remember the fundamental concepts to discuss the correlations between the structures of the human body and their functions, will be able to apply the anatomical knowledge and the ability of understanding of the technical aspects, will have acquired autonomy of judgment. In addition, he will have acquired the basic anatomical-medical terminology and the skills necessary for the professional opportunities foreseen by the degree course.

Course Prerequisites

None

Texts

The student can choose one of these options:
1) Drake RL et al. Anatomia del Gray - I fondamenti- Edra
2) Any book of human anatomy used for the Medical School that includes all the arguments of the described in the program section
3) Scientific papers shown during teaching classes

Contents

The course will define the appropriate reference terminology and will examine, from a morpho-functional perspective, the main organs and systems of the human body, with attention to both macroscopic and microscopic anatomical aspects. This knowledge will be integrated with advanced notions on the methods of generation and morphological analysis of different types of organoids, as in vitro models for studying the structure and cellular organization of various human body organs.
