Course Objectives

The course contributes to the broader educational objective of the BA by providing the conceptual tools suitable for understanding the language and basic problems of contemporary philosophical-theoretical research, with a privileged (but not exclusive) reference to the phenomenological-hermeneutic and post-structuralist approach. The student will acquire: basic knowledge of topics and texts; ability to memorize and understand principles and theories; ability to perform speculative analysis and exercise a wide critical commentary; argumentative and descriptive skills in reconstructing and discussing topics and texts; ability to define and use the fundamental structures of philosophical discourse; suitable basic vocabulary. Further skills: autonomy of judgment (understanding theses and debates; orientation in theoretical issues; connection of ideas and concepts in different traditions; use of critical tools for the framing of main themes); communication skills (ability to expose analyzes in an effective and orderly manner; mastery, integration and development of the philosophical vocabulary applied to the analysis of the fundamental features of contemporary world).
