Course Objectives

The course goal is to give the student a picture as complete as possible about literary history and culture of the chosen language, from 1700 to 1927, with special attention to the most well known classics-through the aid of some critical readings, textbook and monograph- and to the first steps in the literary investigation. Furthermore, we’ll try to provide the appropriate methodology and the specific terminology, necessary for the analysis of the texts.

Course Prerequisites

Knowledge of the fundamental elements of Spanish literary history concerning the period between Humanism and the Baroque, examined during the course related to the first year of Spanish Literature.

Teaching Methods

Frontal lessons.

Assessment Methods

Final oral test, designed to verify the knowledge of the treated themes, the clarity of the student as well as the capacity to return a critical reading of the literary texts considered.

Further and possible material will be provided by the teacher.

The course includes the study of the Spanish Literature of the period between 1700 and 1927.
We will give the historical and political coordinates of the period examined, with particular attention to the ideological and social changes, and then proceed with the study of the literary movements and most representative works.
