Course Objectives

The course aims to train a figure capable of interacting, in a complementary way, with the different technical and design skills,
in the different moments of the building process with the support of BIM (Building Information Modeling) methodologies; architectural project phase, construction phase of construction site and maintenance of the work; to know the procedures for awarding the work; to know the functions of responsibility in the procedures for the realization of public works.
Regarding the specific BIM objectives The contents are divided into the following topics:
Introduction to BIM: Disciplines, standards, regulations and best practices.
Information and parametric modeling techniques in the architectural, structural and plant engineering fields. (BIM Authoring)
BIM model coordination techniques: interference analysis and management of their resolution processes
BIM Management techniques for managing complex projects.
Coding and standardization systems for the implementation of networks of interoperable models.
4D planning and quantification of works through BIM tools: knowledge of databases, development techniques and software in charge.
Coordination and monitoring of production processes through digital applications and the study of digital twins.

Contents

The BIM and Building Process Management Course will tend to provide adequate preparation in basic knowledge and
characterizing disciplines (architecture, urban planning, construction and environment) of the building process in its various phases with the aid of BIM methodologies.
This preparation will allow students to interface with the operators of the building process (in particular with specialists
design and with those involved in the construction and management of the building heritage) in common platforms and with interchangeable Big Data systems.
The specific area is that of the organization and exercise of the various phases attributable to programming, to
design, construction site, property management and technical-economic evaluation of processes
buildings with BIM tools and methodologies.
