Contents

The purpose of the course is to transfer, according to a professionalizing approach, the basic concepts related to the main manufacturing techniques for the rapid creation of models and prototyping steaming from digital drawings. Particular emphasis will be devoted to modern Additive Manufacturing tecniques (3D printing) and to the materials - plastic, ceramic and metal - currently used in these types of processes. However, the more traditional subtractive techniques, such as laser cut, milling, etc., will be threated too.
The course also aims to provide the basics for carrying out all those laboratory tests necessary to characterize the products from a mechanical point of view and to be able to proceed with their certification. To this purpose, an overview on the test machines used for the purpose and the UNI / EN / ISO standards / protocols to be followed, to conduct laboratory tests, will be provided.
