Course Objectives


Students will:• Understand physical and chemical processes governing atmospheric compound dispersion.• Analyze how atmospheric pollutants affect terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems.• Apply modeling tools and monitoring methods to study compound diffusion and impacts.• Critically evaluate environmental policies addressing air pollution and ecosystem protection.

Course Prerequisites


Basic knowledge of general chemistry and physics is recommended.

Teaching Methods



Lectures with multimedia support
Case studies and literature discussions
Practical sessions with modeling software (e.g., HYSPLIT)
Group presentations and field data analysis

Project Report (70%): group assignment on a selected case study

Contents


This course provides an interdisciplinary understanding of the diffusion and transformation of atmospheric compounds and their direct and indirect effects on ecosystems. Topics include the physical principles of atmospheric transport, chemical transformation processes, deposition mechanisms, ecosystem responses, and implications for environmental policy and sustainability.
