Syllabus

Course Objectives

The aim of the course is to acquire an adequate understanding at the molecular and cellular level of biological systems and components. Following participation in the lectures, class discussions during the lessons, and the exam, the student is expected to acquire the ability to understand the topics covered, process the information, communicate it effectively, and arrive at independent judgments.

Course Prerequisites

The course does not have any prerequisites. Nevertheless, in order to follow it successfully, basic knowledge of biochemistry and cell biology is necessary.

Teaching Methods

The course is conducted through lectures, covering the topics in the syllabus. The professor meets students by appointment for personalized clarifications.

Assessment Methods

The applied biology exam is conducted orally, covering multiple topics from the entire syllabus. During the oral exam, the student's ability to present and explain the topics covered in the lectures will be evaluated. In assigning the final grade, which will be expressed out of thirty with possible honors, consideration will be given to the knowledge of the topics covered, as well as critical and communication skills.
