Course Objectives

To know the baseline principles of the laboratory tecniques through which the blood analyses are developped. To know the meaning of the indexes, acronymes and values range reported in the common blood medical reports. Knowledge of the populations and sub-populations of blood cellular parts, organic and inorganic components of the plasma in physiologycal and pathological conditions. Comprehension of blood analyses results and ability to explain them to patients

Course Prerequisites

Knowledge of the cell organization, of the biological molecules classes and characteristics. To have passed the Animal Biology and Plant Biology exam and Biochemistry exam.

Teaching Methods

Theoretical lessons (power point presentations) followed by laboratory practice activities.

Assessment Methods

Oral exam on at least three different topics.
There is no grade. The exam will be considered passed if the student will show an adequate level of knowledge for all the arguments of the exam questions.
