Syllabus

Course Objectives


The course aims at providing a thorough knowledge in teaching and learning Italian as a Second ad Foreign Language. The topics of the current migratory situation, of the national legislative framework, of linguistic and educational policies and of intercultural contact are discussed.

Course Prerequisites

Basic concepts of linguistics, Italian linguistics and language teaching.

Teaching Methods

Lectures and seminars.

Assessment Methods

The verification of the learning consists of an oral test at the end of the course, assessed in thirtieths. The verification aims to ascertain the acquisition of the contents described in the study program and is aimed at ascertaining the degree of preparation of the students, their capacity for critical analysis of the topics covered, as well as; the level of discursive organization of the exposition.

Cognigni E., Il plurilinguismo come risorsa. Prospettive teoriche, pratiche educative e pratiche didattiche, Edizioni ETS, 2020.

Students who did not pass the Modern Languages Didactics exam during their Bachelor's degree program must also study the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) (2001).
Attending Students will receive lecture notes (dispense) during the course, which will also include practical exercises and a selection of chapters from the aforementioned volumes.

Contents


The course aims to provide theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the teaching of Italian as a Second Language (L2), applicable to the varied profile of learners—which is heterogeneous in terms of age, motivations, L1, and literacy level—as well as to the equally differentiated learning contexts (schools of all levels, universities, language centers, reception centers) both in Italy and abroad.

Gli studenti frequentanti riceveranno delle dispense durante il corso che comprenderà anche esercitazioni pratiche e una selezione dei capitoli dei suddetti volumi.
