Overview

Date/time interval

Primo Semestre (22/09/2025 - 21/12/2025)

Syllabus

Course Objectives

Acquisition of basic knowledge of the chemical and physical properties of materials, of the experimental methodologies for their characterization and of the technical-professional skills for their use especially in the construction field.
D1 - Knowledge and understanding
At the end of the course, the student will have to know the basic chemical principles that underlie the properties of the materials studied, the properties of the various materials and how they are related to the their microstructure and / or chemical composition
D2 - Applying knowledge and understanding
The student will have to be able to apply the knowledge acquired by rationally evaluating the mechanical properties of various materials and demonstrating that he has understood the chemical and microstructual basis of these behaviors.
D3 - Making judgments
The student must be able to evaluate, choosing among the various possibilities, the most suitable material for the production of a mechanical or construction component
D4 - Communication skills
The student must be able to describe, with language properties, the mechanical and / or structural characteristics of the various materials treated, and to effectively communicate the physical and chemical foundations underlying said mechanical / structural properties.
D5 - Learning skills
The student must be able to understand and use technical manuals to select components or specific applications, and to acquire in a reasoned way information on innovative materials related to the topics studied.
