knowledge of the chemistry of materials aimed at
understanding the structure and properties of the
different classes of materials.
At the end of the course, the student has acquired
the basic knowledge of the main classes of
materials, their properties and applications. They
are also able to understand the principles underlying
the design, development and manufacture of latest
generation products of interest in the dental field.

Course Prerequisites

Basic Mathematics and Physics

Teaching Methods

The course consists of lectures in the classroom and numerical exercises.
Frontal lessons.
Teaching is mainly conventional, with oral
presentation, supported by slide projections and
writing on the blackboard. The teacher illustrates the
relevance of the topics by giving concrete examples
of t
heir application in the context of applications to
materials of interest in the dental field. The aim of
the lectures is to convey the notions of theory
relevant to the topics discussed.Numerical exercises.
The exercises are carried out in parallel with the
lectures, at the end of a cycle of lessons with
coherent contents. The purposes of the exercises
are:
- the practical application of the theoretical notions
proposed (acquisition of practical skills)
- stimulate the ability to analyze and identify a
strategy aimed at solving the problem (acquisition of
processing skills).
