Course Objectives

Acquire the basic notions of computer architecture, information representation, algorithms and programs. Acquire the programming methodology for building programs in programming languages.

Course Prerequisites

Fundamentals of calculation and mathematical analysis. Principles of linear algebra and analytic geometry.

Teaching Methods

Two hours of lessons with teaching material in the form of a power point presentation or PDF. Two hours of tutorials + 1 hour of assisted tutoring with exercises written in programming languages and shown with the help of the software.

Assessment Methods

The exam consists of a written test that includes 14 multiple-choice questions and one open-ended question; the latter requires the design of an algorithm to solve a problem and its implementation in one of the programming languages presented during the course.
