Course Objectives

The topics of Interior design 1 contributes to the achievement of the general objectives of the Study Course in Design by directing students to a critical knowledge of the project methodologies, of the verification techniques (with particular reference to the use of simulation tools of reality) and to solicit, through targeted exercises, the acquisition of basic skills to support the design of interior spaces, in order to be able to govern the different phases of the project with the necessary balance between research, study and application experimentation. Through the theory and practice of design, the student develops both the skills to devise simple housing solutions applied to the pleasure craft sector, with reference to the needs expressed by users. The Interior design 1 course has the specific objective of: supporting students in identifying and understanding the markets and conditions that define contemporary living; initiate and direct the students' design activities towards the definition of new housing solutions in the nautical field, guided by design; encourage students in the formation of their own identity and professional orientation; develop students' creative and prefigurative skills through design simulation on the themes of nautical interior design.

Teaching Methods

The course is organized in: - frontal contributions offered by the teacher (lectures / presentations); - seminars with national and international guests (monographic lessons / seminars); - group exercises with ongoing assessments; - collective reviews and punctual meetings (presentations and choral discussions / direct reviews); - collaborations with external structures.

Assessment Methods

The course includes: - ongoing evaluation relating to pre-project research (individual); - on-going evaluation relating to the design exercise (individual); - on-going evaluation related to the workshop (individual); The final exam will be aimed at ascertaining knowledge of the topics covered during the course (listed in the calendar of educational activities) and at assessing the ability to critically discuss the design work carried out in the exercises.

Contents

The Interior design 1 course provides the student with basic training in the field of interior fittings, through historical-critical knowledge and design exercise, in the various phases of research, analysis, concept and concept development, applied to simple living spaces. Interior design 1 is a monographic course of basic nautical interior.
