Course Objectives


The Economia Aziendale course, consistent with the educational objectives, professional profiles, and career opportunities of the program, provides advanced and specialized knowledge of the main managerial techniques and approaches useful for effective and efficient management.
LEARNING OBJECTIVE: Upon completing this course, students should be able to apply the knowledge acquired to the various aspects of management (managerial, commercial, administrative, etc.) of various companies. Therefore the main goal is to contribute to training of the professionals capable of performing, among various specialized activities, also strictly managerial ones. The general objectives of the course are therefore aimed at providing students with the knowledge and skills necessary to: - apply the main management, sales, and marketing techniques; - prepare reports and other analyses to examine the external environment, competitive intensity, and positioning relative to competitors, adjusting the relevant offering where necessary; - recognize the guiding principles for efficient and effective management of the firms and for developing an appropriate business model. In this regard, the course aims to impart the following skills and knowledge in terms of specific objectives:
KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING: recognize and apply the fundamental principles of management; prepare reports and other analyses useful for the effective and efficient operation of the company, and to better satisfy its intermediate and end customers; distinguish the various aspects that characterize the external and internal context.
JUDGMENT SKILLS: Ability to compare the positioning of competing companies with respect to the needs and requirements to be met, in order to adopt effective strategies and their impact on the financial performance; ability to interpret threats and opportunities in the external environment, and the strengths and weaknesses of one's own company, in order to develop an effective strategic plan that meets customer needs and an appropriate business model.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS: Ability to express all the fundamental aspects of the discipline (synthetic and analytical) orally, and from a multidisciplinary perspective.

Teaching Methods


Classes, management practice, case studies.

Assessment Methods


Written exam: three short answer questions (duration: 60 minutes). It is intended to assess the acquired knowledge and skills of the students. Oral exam: assessing the communications skills (i.e., using of the technical language, clarity, etc.). The program and assessment are the same for all students (attendees or not).
