L000977 - ECONOMIC-POLITICAL GEOGRAPHY

The aim of this course is to provide the basis for analyzing economic phenomena in different territorial contexts. Starting from basic notions and modeling, the economic and political contexts underlying the concept of development and its different variations in the various world regions will be highlighted. In particular, the systemic correlations of environmental, economic, political, cultural and social factors will be highlighted. The connections between them produce peculiar local and global scenarios, creating systems and networks of interrelations, on which the course will reflect on the different scales of analysis.In the last part, the course will focus on the geography of the entrepreunership and the correlations between territory and technological dynamics.At the end of the course the student will be able to have a basic knowledge of the territorial contexts of reference of economic activities and will be able to understand the interactions between global phenomena and geography, being able to evaluate territorial context analysis related to economic activities.
