Syllabus

Course Objectives


To understand the fundamental elements of descriptive, analytical, and evaluative epidemiology; to know and be able to use the main measures of disease frequency and exposure to risk and protective factors; to know and be able to use the main measures of disease risk.

Course Prerequisites


As stated in the academic regulations.

Teaching Methods


The course consists of 2-hour lectures scheduled according to the academic calendar. The lessons include a strong interactive component between the instructor and the students. Attendance is mandatory.

Assessment Methods


Learning outcomes will be formally assessed by the instructor through a written exam consisting of multiple-choice questions, held on the official exam dates of the course. The exam result will be expressed on a scale of thirty. The written exam consists of 15 predetermined multiple-choice questions, each with only one correct answer, to be completed within 20 minutes.


Each correct answer is awarded 1 point.

Each incorrect answer is awarded 0 points.

The exam is structured to assess the relevance of the knowledge acquired and the ability to apply it in line with the educational objectives of the course.
