Course Prerequisites

While no strict prerequisites are required, students should possess basic knowledge and skills appropriate to the course level, including prior exposure to the main themes and approaches of the discipline.

Teaching Methods

Teaching is delivered in person and involves the integrated use of various teaching methods, selected in accordance with the expected learning outcomes. In particular, the educational activities are structured as follows:

Lectures in the classroom, aimed at conveying theoretical content, systematizing key concepts, and acquiring disciplinary language;
Practical examples of the main research paradigms, useful for understanding the practical implications of the theoretical constructs discussed and for developing interpretative and critical thinking skills;
Optional activities (e.g., workshops, project work, field experiences), if provided, will be announced at the beginning of the course or during the semester.

Attendance is not mandatory but is strongly recommended, as active participation in the various educational activities significantly contributes to achieving the course's learning objectives.

Assessment Methods

The exam consists of an oral colloquium designed to assess the student’s knowledge acquisition, conceptual understanding, language proficiency, and ability to apply acquired knowledge, demonstrating analytical and critical thinking skills. The colloquium will last approximately 20 minutes.
Assessment is based on a 0–30 grading scale (with the possibility of honors). A score between 18 and 23 reflects a sufficient level of learning; between 24 and 28, a good level; and between 29 and 30, an excellent level. Honors (“cum laude”) may be awarded in cases of exceptional analytical and critical reasoning skills demonstrated during the exam.
For attending students, practical activities and/or early exam sessions (pre-exams) may be offered during the semester. Further information will be provided during the lectures and on e-learning page of the course (https://elearning.unich.it/).
