270400 - EVOLUTIONARY BIOLOGY

The course aims to introduce the student to the understanding of the mechanisms that underlie evolutionary theories and their development in the light of new knowledge. The course pays particular attention to the implications of the evolutionary process during embryonic development and in the first years of life. Expected learning outcomes: At the end of the course, the student must have acquired sufficient knowledge to understand the evolutionary mechanisms that underlie human behavior, as well as have the ability to develop, based on evolutionary biology research, a critical path between the origins of evolutionary thought and modern visions that integrate different disciplines such as genetics and especially epigenetics, which flow into a unitary thought connecting evolution to the development of the human being. Furthermore, the student must acquire the language specific to the discipline, be able to develop in-depth paths and argue the themes characterizing the teaching.
