Syllabus

Course Objectives


The course aims to strengthen English language skills to level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR), and to deepen the students' knowledge of grammatical structures and vocabulary, through the reading and analysis of texts of various kinds, with some attention to the field of psychology. Students will be encouraged to develop their ability to communicate in English through various speaking activities.

Course Prerequisites


Students will need to begin with a B1 level of English in order to take part in this course.

Teaching Methods


The course is divided into 54 hours of online classroom teaching on TEAMS, which requires active student participation.

Assessment Methods


There will be a written test at the end of the course. The test will be held in person at the Chieti campus and will be completed online on the course Moodle page.
The test consists of five parts:1) Listening comprehension2) Reading comprehension3) Multiple choice cloze4) Word formation5) Sentence transformation.
Maximum score: 40 points
Time allowed: 50 minutesMinimum score: 24/40

Contents


The course activities will include exercises derived from materials used in the Cambridge exam for B2 level (First Certificate Exam). There will be listening comprehension exercises, reading comprehension, cloze exercises, word formation exercises and sentence transformation exercises.​​​​​​​
