Course Objectives


The aim of the course is to guide students through an interdisciplinary perspective on social research methodology for criminological investigation and security. This is achieved through a compendium of forensic, criminal, and investigative psychology, an introduction to social research methodology and techniques by the eminent scholar Piergiorgio Corbetta, and an illuminating text by James Hillman, who proposes, among many other theories, the bad seed theory.

The first volume of Piergiorgio Corbetta's work explores the concepts of methodology, methods, and techniques, as well as specific operating procedures. The specificities of the main social research paradigms will be explored with the help of empirical research.
