Qualche nota sulle presenze alloctone in area abruzzese, seguendo le orme dei “Longobardi del Sud”

This contribution is a summary of some recent developments about how and when alien populations, especially the Longobards, settled in the Abruzzi region. The contexts of Corfinium and the Fonte S. Ippolito sanctuary have been examined, as well as those of S. Vittorino ad Amiterno e Castel Manfrino, on the border between the Abruzzi and Marches regions. The major novelties come from the archaeological surveys conducted in Corfinium on the area of the monumental complex of Valva within the Peligna valley, where the structures of a palace have been identified as the seat of the gastald of Valva.
