abstract:
The book is the outcome of a transnational research and critical reflections on urban policies in Italy and Europe regarding to integration of migrant populations. The perspective of housing welfare in the contexts examined (Italy, France, Sweden and Denmark) highlights different dynamics characterized by different administrative and institutional orientation direct to social housing market. The demand for houses and processes of settlement of migrants need tools for extending the citizenship rights and the chance of social, economic and cultural inclusion at local level. Consequently, the house represents one fundamental issue for the choices of public interventions and policies in terms of integration/inclusion.
