Inclusive education in Italy

This contribution is inspired by a work by Michael Giangreco et al (2012) that investigates the Italian system of "scholastic integration", comparing it with the US system and focusing on two aspects: the demographic and service delivery variables. The work of Giangreco et al (2012) opens a debate in which several Italian authors participate and whose results are partly summarized by Giangreco et al (2014). This debate has the merit of focusing attention on important and little-studied aspects of inclusion and at the same time favoring the systematic comparison between different contexts. After having summarized the debate and the relative positions, some reflections are proposed and possible ways of research are indicated.
