Autoimmune hypophysitis is a chronic inflammation of the pituitary gland that can be classified according to anatomic location, histopathology, or cause. It is a rare but increasingly recognized disease that has exploded on the medical arena due to its association with cancer immunotherapies. Its spectrum continues to expand and increase in complexity. The field will advance when a reliable serological test that identifies the autoimmune nature of hypophysitis becomes available.
