Unbound Peripheries: Familial Distortions in the Work of J. Haigh and J. Dee

The article analyzes two contemporary novels: Jennifer Haigh's Heat and Light (2016), and Jonathan Dee's The Locals (2017). In particular, the article explores the representation of social violence within family structures in the context of peripheral areas in the North-East of the United States, specifically in the suburbs of Pittsburgh (Pennsylvania) and New York.
