New towns o ricostruzione (quasi) “dov’era, com’era” ?: l’esempio del progetto per Venzone

Rebuilding an ancient city, updating its typology, after an earthquake, is possible and has already been done. The project by Gianfranco Caniggia and Francesca Sartogo for the reconstruction of the medieval town of Venzone, after the Friuli earhquake in 1976, is proposed here as an exemplary model for the now urgent reconstruction of l'Aquila.
