Design based inference for Functional diversity profile

Chapter
Publication Date:
2011
abstract:
In this paper the sampling design for β-diversity
function is developped. In ecological framework the biological
diversity is measured by means of a curve named diversity profile
which consists in a sequence of measurement allowing different
aspects of the structure of the biological community. From this
point of view the suitable statistical approach is Functional data
Analisys (FDA). We focus our attention in the case in which the
problem is to estimate the diversity profile by means of a suitable
sampling design. A fixed sampling approach will be considered,
we also provide statistical inference on the Horvitz-Thompson
estimator of the β-diversity profile
