Le radici antropologiche del pensiero di Hans Jonas

Capitolo di libro
Data di Pubblicazione:
2026
Abstract:
This contribution examines the anthropological
roots of Hans Jonas’s thought, showing how The Phenomenon
of Life can be understood within the tradition of German
philosophical anthropology, despite the absence of explicit
references to its main figures. The article situates Jonas’s work
within a lineage running from Scheler and Plessner to Port-
mann, highlighting the continuity between his philosophical
biology and the Plessner–Portmann line. It emphasizes the
centrality of the organism as a philosophical category capable
of overcoming Cartesian dualism and reductionist views of
life, thereby allowing subjectivity to be rethought as a grad-
ed and immanent dimension. Within this framework, human
specificity appears as a radicalized tendency already inscribed
in life.
