Curriculum Vitae

Roberto Veraldi, born in Catanzaro on October 18, 1965, and residing in Teramo (Italy), is an Associate Professor in the scientific disciplinary sector SPS/07 (General Sociology), and holds the National Scientific Qualification (ASN) for Full Professor, affiliated with the Department of Philosophical, Pedagogical and Social Sciences at the “Gabriele d’Annunzio” University of Chieti-Pescara. He served as a member of the Academic Senate of the same university from 2018 to 2020 and is currently President of the Degree Course in Social Work (L-39), serving his second term (2023–2026) and University Delegate for EU relationships.Member of a multidisciplinary PRIN 2020 research unit, coordinated by Sapienza University of Rome, titled *“Inhabiting Uncertainty. A Multifaceted Study on the Relationship Between Social Attitudes and Lifestyles in Pandemic Spaces.”
Academic and Teaching Activities
From 1994 to 2003, he carried out consulting and research activities with local authorities in the Abruzzo region and collaborated with several universities (Teramo, Catholic University of Milan, LUMSA Rome).
At the University “G. d’Annunzio” of Chieti-Pescara, he teaches:
* Sociology of Economic Development
* General Sociology
* Social Policies
He teaches also General Sociology in the Physiotherapy Faculty and has served as President of the International Relations Committee.
He participated in several international conferences and research projects:
* Erasmus+ international collaborations
* European Society for Rural Sociology research group
* International comparative studies on social policies
He coordinates international research projects, including initiatives and the Euro-African Partnership Forum (2025).
Member of editorial boards and scientific committees of international journals

* Local development and territorial sociology
* Social change and globalization
* Sociological theory and methodology
