FABRIZIO DI MARZIO

He graduated with honours in law from the University of Bologna in 1989.
He was an ordinary magistrate from 1996 to 2019.
He served as a civil judge at the courts of Crotone (until 2004) and Rome (until 2011).
In 2011, he won the first competition for Councillor of the Court of Cassation reserved for magistrates who have passed the second or third professional assessment, pursuant to Article 12, paragraph 14, of Legislative Decree No. 160/2006. From that year onwards, he served as a judge of the Court of Cassation, first in the Second Criminal Section and then in the Third Civil Section.
In 2016, he was removed from the permanent staff to take up the position of member of the Commission for the Guarantee of Statutes and for the Transparency and Control of Political Party Accounts, upon the recommendation of the First President of the Court of Cassation.

Since 2000, he has taught private law subjects at various universities.
Also since 2000, he has been a speaker at training and refresher courses organised by the Scientific Committee of the CSM.
From 2007 to 2010, he was a member of the Scientific Committee of the CSM, coordinating the civil sector in 2010.
From 2013 to 2016, he was a member of the SSM teaching structure at the Court of Cassation for the civil sector.

He has been a member of technical committees and working groups at the Presidency of the Council of Ministers and at the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Economic Development on commercial legislation, as well as at the Ministry of Health on health legislation.
He was a member of the scientific committee of the Italian Notarial Foundation.
He was a member of the civil law commission at the Italian Accounting Body.

In 2013, he obtained his qualifications as a full professor of private law.
Also in 2013, he obtained his qualifications as a full professor of commercial law.

In 2019, he participated in and won the competition for a position as full professor of private law at the University of Chieti-Pescara.
He is currently full professor of private law at the University of Chieti-Pescara.
A barrister, he is head of the legal and business department of the Coldiretti National Confederation.

He holds the following scientific positions.
He is a member of the scientific committee of the Encyclopaedia of Law.
He is part of the scientific committee of the Observatory on Crime in Agriculture and the Agri-Food System.

Since 2019, he has been editor-in-chief of the journal Diritto e giurisprudenza agraria, alimentare e dell'ambiente (scientific).
Since 2016, he has been co-editor of the journal Diritto Agroalimentare (in band A).
Since 2014, he has been co-editor of the journals Giustizia civile (in band A) and GiustiziaCivile.com. (scientific).

He edits the Codice civile (5a ed.), Codice di Procedura Civile (6a ed.), Codice della crisi d'impresa e dell’insolvenza, Codice della responsabilità civile, Codice della famiglia, and finally co-editor of the Codice dei contratti (Contract Code), belonging to the series ‘I Codici Commentati Giuffrè’ (Giuffrè Commented Codes).

He is editor of the volume ‘Crisi d'impresa’ (Business Crisis) of the Enciclopedia del diritto (Encyclopaedia of Law) (currently in progress).
He is editor of the Collana Pratica professionale, Crisi d'impresa (currently in production).
He has been and continues to be the editor of numerous collective works on civil, commercial and agricultural law.
