The project aims to apply virtual reality, with immersive experiences in a natural environment, to oncology patients who belong to the different departments of the “G. Bernabeo” of Ortona. The project involves the purchase of 30 virtual reality viewers that can be used by patients who will have the opportunity to choose to immerse themselves in different natural environments, also listening to their characteristics, rather than in guided mindfulness sessions. The equipment can also be used by the staff of the departments mentioned, to reduce the risk of burnout. The project also allows the virtual experience to be transformed into a real one, providing the possibility of participating in one or more experiences in a natural environment, together with their caregivers. The expected results include the improvement of compliance with treatment and the psychophysical health of patients, investigated on the basis of objective and subjective data collected by the departments.
