00024L - CRIMINAL LAW

The course aims to provide students with a command of the fundamental categories of criminal law — constitutional principles, the general theory of the offence, the sanctioning system and sentence enforcement — and the ability to apply them to the areas of greatest relevance to business activity: environmental criminal law, the criminal protection of workplace safety, and corporate liability for offences under Legislative Decree no. 231/2001.
In terms of expected learning outcomes: knowledge and understanding of the general part of criminal law and of the fundamentals of economic criminal law; applying knowledge and understanding through the legal analysis of concrete cases, with particular regard to the criminal risk profiles connected with business activity; making judgements through the critical assessment of legislative and case-law solutions; communication skills in the appropriate use of criminal law terminology; learning skills enabling autonomous updating in the light of legislative and case-law developments, also with a view to further legal studies.
