Syllabus

Course Objectives


By the end of the course, students will be able to:

Recognize the physical, cognitive, social, and emotional needs of older adults.
Analyze complex situations through case studies and scenarios presented in films.
Design therapeutic interventions based on occupational therapy principles.
Work in multidisciplinary teams with a person-centered approach.

Acquire the skills necessary to design an occupational program

Discuss different clinical cases on a theoretical and practical level

Teaching Methods


The teaching is divided into 20 hours of frontal teaching, which include a strong interactive component between teacher and students.​​​​​​​

Assessment Methods

The oral exam is aimed at ascertaining the learning outcomes. The vote is expressed out of thirty. ​​​​​​​

Contents


The course will delve into the understanding of changes related to aging and their implications for daily life. It will provide practical skills for the assessment and intervention in occupational therapy for older adults. Cinema will be used as a tool to foster an empathetic understanding of the experiences of older adults and their caregivers. These topics are aimed at achieving the expected learning outcomes.​​​​​​​
