Course Objectives

The clinical training aims to develop in students an appropriate level of decision-making and operational autonomy in the management of dental patients. By the end of the training, students will be able to actively participate in the diagnostic and therapeutic process, contributing to medical history taking, clinical examination, diagnosis formulation, and treatment planning. Students will also acquire competencies in performing clinical procedures across the different fields of dentistry, managing the main clinical complications, and ensuring appropriate patient follow-up, while operating in accordance with the principles of Evidence-Based Dentistry, patient safety standards, and ethical and professional guidelines.

Course Prerequisites

Admission to the exam requires that all examinations from the first to the fifth year have been successfully completed.

The clinical training is aimed at acquiring and consolidating practical clinical competencies in the management of dental patients. The educational activity is based on the active participation of students in patient care, promoting the integration of theoretical knowledge with clinical practice in a real clinical setting. Particular attention is given to the management of cases of moderate to high complexity, through a multidisciplinary approach oriented toward integrated treatment planning. The clinical training is complemented by lectures aimed at deepening the diagnostic, therapeutic, and decision-making aspects of the clinical cases addressed, as well as the principles of patient safety, clinical documentation, informed consent, and professional responsibility.
