The internship aims at completing the theoretical teaching of Restorative Dentistry and Endodontic courses. It will strengthen the knowledges about the anatomy and pathophysiology of the pulp-dentin complex and peri-radicular tissues, the etiology of decay, pulp disease and peri-radicular inflammatory lesions related to endodontic. All the elements for a full-understanding and for a correct diagnosis of caries, pulpal and peri-radicular lesions will be provided, underlining the factors able to influence prognosis and evolution of the endodontically compromised tooth. Care will be payed to the differential diagnosis of endo-perio lesions and the other not-odontogenic causes of pain in the orofacial district. Students will learn how to propose the proper treatment plan. They will get familiar with all materials and instruments used in restorative dentistry and endodontic procedures.
