Syllabus

Course Objectives

The aim of the discipline is to understand the general mechanisms that regulate the relationship between toxic substances / drugs / organism and the mechanism of action and organ toxicity of different toxic substances and / or drugs.
The course aims to teach students the knowledge of chemical, chemical and physical analysis and of substances in order to evaluate the toxicological risk on public health.
Through lectures, consultation of the reference text and scientific literature, students will be able to learn topics in a critical way regarding issues related to toxicology.

Course Prerequisites

It is advisable to have already acquired the basic notions of Pharmacology.

Teaching Methods

The teaching is structured in 64 hours front, divided into 2 hours lessons. The frontal teaching consists of theoretical lessons in the classroom and exercises in educational workshops. During the teaching, individual and / or group works will be proposed to the students. Moreover the proposed exercises will allow to verify the practical application of the topics addressed during the theoretical course.

A minimum frequency of 54 hours is required

Assessment Methods

The exam consists of an oral test. The topics under examination will reflect those dealt with during the course and present in the program. The personal contribution of the student, of his activity, of the commitment and constancy shown during the period of attendance will be evaluated
To pass the exam it will be necessary to acquire a correct, clear and concise terminology, paying attention to the possible logical links between the topics developed during the course of study.
