Syllabus

Course Objectives


At the end of the course, the student should be able to assist the sick, in emergency-urgency situations and correctly apply surgical and trauma prescriptions and adopt behavioral and communication patterns suitable for effective intervention in intra- and extra-hospital emergency conditions

Teaching Methods


The course will be conducted through interactive lectures using iconographic material in Power Point files for a total of 15 hours

Assessment Methods


The verification of learning is based on an oral test. The evaluation is expressed in thirtieths, and the examination is passed if the evaluation is equal to or higher than eighteen thirtieths (18/30). In determining the order in which students are to be examined, special consideration shall be given to the specific needs of working students. the evaluation of insuffiiciency shall not be accompanied by a grade. Honors may be granted unanimously if the final grade is thirty. Publicity of the examination tests shall be ensured and the announcement of the final result of the test and its evaluation shall be public

Know the fundamentals of clinical framing of emergency surgery and in trauma; be able to fit operationally into Trauma Team protocols; and be familiar with the main instrumental and laboratory diagnostic methods in use in emergency and urgent care. General topics of interest will also be covered, such as principles of surgery, disinfection and asepsis rules, advanced wounds and dressings, the operating room, and concepts of “fast track surgery"
