Syllabus

Course Objectives

1)Conoscenze e capacità di comprensione: al termine del corso lo studente possiederà i concetti base della linguistica romanza e delle letterature romanze e sarà in grado di leggere e tradurre i testi oggetto del corso; avrà inoltre sviluppato una conoscenza più raffinata di almeno una lingua romanza e sarà in grado di leggere e tradurre autonomamente testi di media difficoltà in quella lingua.
2) Conoscenza applicata e autonomia di giudizio: alla fine del corso lo studente sarà in grado di istituire semplici collegamenti fra le lingue e letterature romanze; avrà affinato le competenze linguistiche e letterarie in una lingua romanza e sarà in grado di formulare e sostenere autonomamente argomentazioni complesse e commenti ai testi anche nuovi rispetto a quelli del corso.
3) abilità comunicative: alla fine del corso lo studente sarà in grado di comunicare e condividere informazioni, problemi e soluzioni in un lessico congruo e in modo chiaro; inoltre sarà in grado di comunicare idee e formulare ipotesi con un lessico specialistico e aggiornato.
4) capacità di apprendimento: alla fine del corso lo studente avrà sviluppato l'autonomia necessaria a muoversi fra gli strumenti di base e sarà in grado di orientarsi nella bibliografia specialistica e nei dizionari. 1) At the end of the course the student will have the basic concepts of Romance linguistics and Romance literatures and will be able to read and translate the texts of the course; it will also have developed a more refined knowledge of at least one Romance language and will be able to read and translate independently texts of medium difficulty in that language.
2) At the end of the course the student will be able to establish simple connections between Romance languages and literatures; he will have refined his linguistic and literary skills in a Romance language and will be able to formulate and sustain complex arguments and comments on new texts as opposed to those of the course.
3) At the end of the course the student will be able to communicate and share information, problems and solutions in a clear and consistent lexicon; he will also be able to communicate ideas and formulate hypotheses with a specialized and updated vocabulary.
4) At the end of the course the student will have developed the autonomy necessary to move between the basic tools and will be able to orient themselves in the specialized bibliography and in the dictionaries.

Teaching Methods

Lectures with the help of powerpoints and seminar opportunities for discussion with students.

Assessment Methods


The final assessment consists of an oral exam on the entire syllabus. The aim is to assess students’ skills and in particular, an understanding of the issues discussed during the course, an appropriate knowledge of the bibliography in the course programme, a correct command of the specific language as well as critical and methodological abilities will be evaluated. The grading scale goes from 1 to 30 with honours (cum laude): 1-17 fail, 18-21 sufficient, 22-24 fair, 25-27 good, 28-29 very good, 30-30 with honours (cum laude) excellent.
