OD16A - DENTAL MATERIALS

The training activity aims to provide the student with basic knowledge of dental materials in chemical, physical and biological terms and above all in clinical application. The fundamental knowledge of the manufacturing procedures, the indications for use, the components constituting the individual dental materials, their use in dentistry will be presented, in order to guide the student in the choice of materials in relation to optimal clinical use.

The main objective of the training will be the acquisition of guiding concepts useful for quickly orienting oneself in the choice of materials and biomaterials among the numerous products and technologies available in the dental field in order to choose the most performing materials for clinical use.
The course will also provide the foundations for each student to develop their research skills on the main electronic databases in the dental materials sector. Cooperation in groups will be encouraged and students will be encouraged to actively interact with the teacher through participation in open lectures, seminars, the discussion of scientific articles, and the critical evaluation of specific scientific literature.
