• the study of the basic mechanisms (and their theoretical derivations) of the vital processes at the cellular level. The functional dynamics of excitable tissues and the biophysical laws that regulate the activity of the different organs and systems of living organisms • understanding of the functioning of the various organs and their dynamic integration into the apparatuses and of the general mechanisms of homeostatic control under normal conditions and adaptation principles and laws of neurophysiology that allow to understand and justify, beyond the nervous regulation of the apparatus, also somatic functions related to sensitivity, motor skills and those connected with spinal behaviors (reflexes)
Course Prerequisites
Anatomical knowledge of the organs and apparatuses addressed in the teaching of Physiology and knowledge of the biochemical processes underlying cellular mechanisms required for the understanding of physiological processes are required
Teaching Methods
Lectures and exercises with compulsory attendance.
Assessment Methods
2 in progress checks during the course and final oral exam. The oral exam takes place with questions on the apparatuses and questions on neurophysiology. For foreign students, if required, an exam with multiple choice test is provided in English
