Course Objectives

LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Theatrical literature, which can be considered an integral part of Italian Literature, tackles Italian dramaturgic production with an eye to the text, one of the fundamental components of the theatrical archipelago. Dialoguing with the disciplines of the show, it shares the main learning objectives as the study course in Letters: to get to know in a critical manner the evolution of Italian dramaturgy with reference to the history of literary genres; to learn one’s way among the themes and stylistic features of the individual authors and the periods to which they belong; to know how to analyze the dramaturgical component of the theatre in a theoretical and historiographical perspective that takes into account the historically complex relationship between spectacle and literature.LEARNING OUTCOMESOn completion of the course, students must demonstrate:1. that they can recognize the specific physiognomy of a theatre text and the stylistic features linked to specific periods and individual authors;2. that they can analyze, in the context of the theatre phenomenon, the dramaturgical component in a theoretical and historiographical perspective that takes into account the historically complex relationship between the universe of the spectacle and that of literature;3. that they can place the theatre text in its ideological-cultural context; 4. the ability to carry out an exhaustive and updated bibliographical research.
