Course Objectives

The course aims to: provide advanced knowledge on the main psychopathological disorders of childhood and adolescence; explore the theoretical and nosographic models that describe typical and atypical developmental trajectories; understand the role of relational and contextual factors (family, school, traumatic events) in the development of psychological distress; develop skills in the use of observation and psychodiagnostic assessment tools in childhood; promote the ability to integrate theoretical knowledge and clinical data for the development of diagnostic and intervention hypotheses.
At the end of the course, students will have developed skills in the following areas: (i) diagnostic assessment in childhood; (ii) designing psychoeducational interventions, prevention, and parenting support in the early stages of development; (iii) understanding psychosomatic disorders and issues related to emotional regulation.
