Teaching Methods

Lectures will consist of a general introduction, a thematic-textual analysis, and a concluding summary.
Lectures will be the predominant method, supplemented, depending on teaching needs, by shared reading of texts and group work in seminars.

Assessment Methods

Assessment of the educational objectives and expected learning outcomes is conducted through an oral interview of variable length. During the interview, the effective acquisition of the indicated knowledge, skills, and competencies will be assessed. Evaluation parameters include the ability to organize knowledge in a discursive manner, the ability to critically reason on the study completed, the quality of presentation, and the competence, effectiveness, and consistency in the use of specialized vocabulary.
The assessment consists of questions regarding applied ethics in its various forms, with particular emphasis on the environmental theme (the subject of the in-depth monograph), and the comprehension and analysis of texts related to the second part of the course.
Grading is expressed in thirtieths. The minimum passing grade is eighteen (18).
The exam can also be taken in English.

More information

Attendance is recommended but not mandatory. However, given the teaching and methodological approach (largely focused on reading, explanation, and commentary on texts) and the nature of the exam program, students are advised that careful and consistent attendance is preferential (and sometimes essential) for effective self-study and minimally thorough preparation for the exam. Students are also required to bring the required texts to the exam.
Anyone unable to attend at least two-thirds (2/3) of the class time will be required to supplement the exam program with an additional text, which will be indicated during the class, and which will allow them to more effectively approach self-study.
For further information, thesis proposals, and clarifications, please refer to the office hours (either online or in person), available on the official website. To organize office hours more efficiently, we recommend contacting the instructor at least one week before the chosen date, detailing specific topics and/or needs in writing (oreste.tolone@unich.it). Office hours can also be held in English.
