Syllabus

Course Objectives


The course aims to improve language skills by refining the ability in stylistic analysis and translation of sectoral texts. Further development of intercultural communication skills.

Knowledge of the main characteristics of spoken and written Russian; Ability to interpret and use winged words in Russian.

Course Prerequisites


Upper-intermediate level C1 of CEFR

Teaching Methods


Frontal teaching with the use of multimedia materials.

Assessment Methods


The final exam is composed as follows:
Written exam:
• Grammar test
• Listening
• IT-RU translation of instruction text
• Stylistic analysis of a text
The exam materials will be tailored to the text types and vocabulary introduced in class.
The oral exam, which can be taken after passing the written exam, consists of:
• Conversation with the CEL in Russian
• Presentation in Russian on a topic drawn from the theoretical content related to the conceptual sphere of Russian culture.

Contents


The course aims to develop in students the theoretical and practical skills necessary to translate sectoral texts from Italian into Russian and to perfect translation skills in the field of translations from Russian into Italian. During the course, original texts will be examined. The students must be able to identify the various text types and diversify the translation approach.

Attendance of the CEL exercises is mandatory in order to achieve the levels of linguistic competence provided for by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) and to pass the final exam.

Before accessing the exam with the teacher, students will take the test according to the procedures established by the CLA. During the examination, the teacher will take into account the result achieved in formulating the final evaluation.

All information regarding the hours of the exercises and the methods of verification held by the CELs are available on the website of the University Language Center.
