Syllabus

Course Objectives


The course offers knowledge:- communication as a complex human-social process (syntax, semantics,pragmatics);- the fundamental question of the distinction between information andcommunication;- the areas of sociology of communication (interpersonal, mass, virtual);- interpersonal communication;- of the interview in Social Services as a technical-professional tool forinterpersonal communication.Knowledge and understanding.At the end of the course, the Student will have to know the Sociology ofcommunication and the professional application of one of its areas -interpersonal communication - in the social service interview tool.Autonomy of judgementAt the end of the course the student will have to be able to recognize, inthe professional interview, the functions of interpersonal communicationas a continuous balance between personalization (knowing how to relate,trust) and impersonalization of the intervention (social, professional andorganizational mandate of the relationship).Communication skillsAt the end of the course the student will have to know how to use thesociological and social-welfare language of communication.

Course Prerequisites


No specific knowledge and skills are required and no prerequisites are required.

Teaching Methods


The course consists of 36 hours of lessons in the classroom.

Assessment Methods


Learning will be verified through an oral exam. The score ranges from 1to 30 with honors, according to the following: 1-17 insufficient, 18 -21sufficent, 22-24 discrete, 25-27 good, 28-29 very good, 30-30 withexcellent praise.
The examination procedures are the same for attending and non attending students.

The sociology of interpersonal communication as one of the major areas of the sociology of communication.Interpersonal communication as a process of comprehensive and constructive exchange of the human-social relationship.The professional interview: the substantial transition of expert interpersonal communication to social work.
