Syllabus

Course Objectives


At the end of the course students should to know what are the so-called market failures and the main other causes of public intervention in the economy, as well as understanding the ways and limits of the various intervention tools.

Students should also be able to apply their knowledge to real contexts.




Course Prerequisites


Students are required to know basic concepts and analytical tools of microecomics.

Assessment Methods


Written examination (with multiple choice answers and exercises) to be possibly integrated by an oral session.

Students can ask for taking the exam in english.

Contents


The course provides the economic tools to analyze reasons, instruments and effects of the public intervention in the economy.




Course Language


The course is in Italian but textbook and class material are available in English upon request. Also the exam can be taken in English upon request.
